About Lindale

Lindale Mennonite Church was founded in 1898. Currently Lindale has almost 300 members, and attendance while college is in session can sometimes climb to as high as 375 or 400.

Sunday Morning Worship

Sunday morning worship begins every week at 10:30am. Worship time is preceeded by the warm conversations of those coming from Sunday School classes, and of others arriving for the worship service. Prelude is typically either piano music or an informal time of singing led by our praise team. Music is a mixture of general use of the hymnal, and praise music. A praise team leads worship music every second and fourth Sundays. Sharing time is an important part of the morning worship service, along with almost weekly children's stories. Sunday School

Sunday School begins every week at 9:30am. Visitors are certainly welcome to attend a Sunday School class of their choosing! We have Sunday School classes for all ages, including staffed nursery, all primary school grades, Jr. High, and High School. We also have a very active college-age class, which averages around 15 people every Sunday. There are also several post-college young adult classes for both married and single folks, as well as a variety of other adult classes, mostly organized by stage of life (young kids, empty-nesters, retired, etc). There are also a few inter-generational classes. If you plan to visit and are interested in attending a Sunday School class when you come, you're welcomed to contact the church office at 540-833-5171 to find out more details about a particular class. You can also ask an usher or greeter to help you find a class when you arrive.

Transportation

An EMU van is available to transport students from the EMU campus to Lindale every morning. This van leaves the EMU Commons parking lot at 9:15am every Sunday to arrive at Lindale in time for Sunday School. On days of snowy or icy weather, check the local ABC television affilliat (cable channel 11 or air channel 3) for service cancellation information. On days of incliment weather when the service is still held, complimentary valet parking will be available for all who need or want assistance.
